Security - ACCUSER variableWhen IR posts documents, it will check for the existence of the DOS SET variable ACCUSER and if found, will move up to 12 characters of the variable value to the document header. Two fields are maintained - for the user who creates the document and also the user who last modified the document. If the ACCUSER variable is not set up these fields will contain blanks. You need to set the variable before you go into ACCPAC. Do not open a DOS window from within ACCPAC to make this setting.
The variable ACCUSER refers to the DOS SET variable (see DOS/WINDOWS manual). Once set, IR will recognize the variable and will update/stamp documents with the variable contents.
In a networked environment it is usually possible to assign the login name to the variable at time of login to the network. I'm not sure of the NT settings but on a Novell network you will include a line "SET ACCUSER = %login_name%" in the login script. This will assign the login name to the variable.
